Canada ranks third-fastest for download speeds globally

New data from Opensignal shows that Canada offers the third best download speeds worldwide, averaging out to 42.5 Mbps. South Korea takes the crown with speeds surpassing 50Mbps, while the worldwide average is less than 20Mbps. Furthermore, the Asian rival country ranks first for 4G availability, with Canada following at a measly 18th place. With Canada’s vast network spanning the entire large country, this is no easy feat. Opensignal’s researchers aren’t astonished by these results because of bigger city centers in Canada are boasting over 60Mbps mobile speeds, and operators getting more than 35 Mbps in other areas.

For upload speeds, Canada placed 10th, falling behind Denmark who took the crown.
